How to Set Up a Brand Lift Study

Step‑by‑step instructions to launch a Brand Lift survey, measure your campaign impact, and get actionable insights.

Updated over 3 months ago

Brand Lift studies let you measure the true impact of your ads by comparing exposed vs. control groups. You’ll see how much your campaign shifts awareness, perception, and intent — not just clicks and impressions.

Setting one up is simple: just complete the form, choose your audience, and launch. Our team takes care of the rest, and you’ll get results in as little as 6 days.

If you need more control over question design or want to go beyond standard scenarios, you can always:

  • Create your own survey in DIY mode, or

  • Chat with our team for tailored options.

1. Project Definition

When setting up your Brand Lift study, you’ll be asked to complete the Campaign Details form. Here’s what each field means:

Campaign Title

  • This is internal only — use it as a project name to help you organize.

  • Example: Q3 TikTok Awareness Campaign.

Video File or Link

  • Upload the ad creative or paste a link (YouTube, TikTok, etc.).

  • This is what respondents in the exposed group will see.

Product Name

  • Enter the product being advertised in the campaign.

  • Example: Protein Snack Bar.

Category

  • Enter the product category your campaign is in.

  • Example: Healthy Snacks, Mobile Network Provider.

Brand Attribute(s)

  • Select what you want your campaign to improve or be remembered for.

  • Options include Innovative, Trustworthy, High Quality, Affordable, Trendy, or add your own (Other).

  • These attributes will be tracked in the survey to measure lift.

Brand Name

  • The name of your brand as it will appear in the survey.

  • Example: Brand A.

💡 Tip: Be as precise as possible when selecting your product, category, and attributes. It ensures cleaner data and more actionable insights.

2. Target Audience

Next, select who you want to reach:

  • Nationally Representative: A balanced sample for your chosen country.

  • Custom Audience: Define your own criteria (age, gender, income, etc.).

Standard Brand Lift includes 300 respondents (150 exposed / 150 control). You can scale up to analyze by demographics or regions.

3. Add‑ons

Optionally, you can include:

  • Open‑Text Feedback: Adds an open question for exposed respondents.

    • Learn why people react the way they do.

    • Great for qualitative insights alongside the metrics.

    • Can be toggled on/off in the Add‑Ons step.

4. Launch & Report

  • Once your details are reviewed, our team sets up the study and fields it with active category consumers.

  • Results are delivered in ~6 days via your interactive dashboard.

Your Brand Lift report includes:

  1. Key Lift Metrics (awareness, perception, consideration, intent)

  2. Brand Funnel Comparison

  3. Ad Evaluation (optional)

  4. Segment Highlights

  5. Summary & Recommendations
